Program of Work
Long Beach Chamber hosts events and programs that support its Chamber member businesses and Long Beach community in the areas of Community & Economic Development, Education & Workforce Development, Military & Public Affairs, and Small Business Development.
Kite Festival
The Kite Fest is a fun-filled family event held in the Long Beach Harbor and Beach Area every May. There are kite demonstrations, kite surfing demonstrations, and most of all it helps showcase our beautiful beaches. There are also food vendors, children activities, and kite related vendors. Spectators and kite flyers from several states and of all ages attend this wonderful family event.
The Kite Fest is a major annual event for the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce’s program of work. Our program of work includes small business development and partial proceeds from the Kite Fest supplement our scholarship program.
A Taste of Long Beach
A Taste of Long Beach was begun by the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce in 2009. Designed to raise awareness of the excellent culinary talent located in our community, A Taste of Long Beach supports the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce’s program of work including business development such as small business grants. This event is held in the Fall each year.
Second Cup
Second Cup is a breakfast meeting which provides a great opportunity to interact with other business professionals and community members. A guest speaker will talk about different issues affecting Long Beach. It is open to chamber and potential members.
Mardi Gras Parade
Come party with us at the Long Beach Mardi Gras parade. It is an exciting event held each year—two Sundays prior to Fat Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. A really good viewing area is on Jeff Davis Avenue in the heart of Long Beach.
Long Beach School District
Long Beach can speak with pride about the quality education available to all students. They can be reached by calling 228-864-1146 or by going to the website at www.lbsd.k12.ms.us
