Vice President of Special Assets

Manage and direct the operational duties of the Special Assets Department, which includes: collections, bankruptcy, legal issues, E-OSCAR credit bureau disputes, Overdraft Privilege (courtesy pay), Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI), and returned check items (IRD). Ensure that all special asset employees are fully trained and proficient in all aspects of their jobs and fully of the proper path for problem resolution and escalation. Maintain communication with senior leader on current regulations or department-related situations as needed. Ensure that branch managers are aware of any special asset department operational changes. Assist staff with problem resolution regarding delinquent loans, transactions and staff issues. Adhere to all applicable rules and regulations concerning loans, member accounts and credit union operations. Manage the Special Assets operation with due diligence making recommendations when necessary. Plan and direct the daily activities of your staff; assign proper personnel for particular job assignments. Provide input to overall strategic plan. Prepare and maintain documentation of team performance and disciplinary actions, including notes on any ongoing coaching discussions, and other documentation as needed. Run and complete monthly reports that will provide you and senior management with required statistical data regarding your area of responsibility. This data should be used to analyze the previous month’s operational performance and assist you in organizing department training. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Associate's degree in related field with equivalent work experience in same role considered.Minimum of five years related experience required, with at least two in collections management preferred.
Must demonstrate exceptional skills in oral and written communication, organization, and project management.
Must have ability to work with members and team members in a professional manner. Able to build relationships and communicate with senior leadership and contribute to strategic initiatives.
