    Qualifications & Experience:
     
    MANDATORY:  (M1) Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related area from a regionally accredited college or university (M2) Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel (mail merge) and PowerPoint; email and the internet (M3) Experience in recruitment, public speaking, and/or sales. (M4) Demonstrated commitment to strong customer service (M5) Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

    DESIRABLE:  (D1) Master’s Degree in college student personnel or related field from a regionally accredited college or university (D2) Experience with SCT Banner software (D3) Prior experience working in a community college, specifically in student services (D4) Experience with direct mail communication (D5) Experience in working with various social media outlets. (D6) Speaks both English and Spanish fluently

    JOB DESCRIPTION

     Enrollment Specialists/College Representative
     
    GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION:  The incumbent will serve as a college representative in recruiting prospective students by attending various on-and-off campus recruiting events and utilizing various outreach methods such as electronic and print materials and social media networks. Responsibilities include individual counseling with students and parents, follow-up correspondence, telephone marketing, public relations related to student recruitment and all other aspects of student recruitment. As a member of the district Recruitment Team, The College Representative reports directly to the Dean of Enrollment and Registrar supporting the college’s mission, vision, and recruitment priorities for internal and external constituencies. 
     
    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Participate in the development of operating goals and objectives for the unit.
    2. Participate in developing effective recruitment strategies.
    3. Stay abreast of changes including MGCCC admission requirements, scholarship/financial aid opportunities, student services, academic, career/ technical and workforce programs.
    4. Promote new programs and offerings to prospective students, high school counselors, GED prospects, and community contacts.
    5. Ensure good working relationships among recruitment team members, members in Student Services areas district-wide and members of Institutional Relations, as well as other college personnel.
    6. Communicate and work cohesively with the MGCCC Answer Center and Director of Recruitment, Communications, and Data.
    7. Willingness to work flexible schedules at various campus/center and community locations and  adherence to electronic scheduling of appointments
    8. Conduct all recruiting activities and follow-up with prospective students in an assigned territory.
    9. Visit and participate at high schools, colleges college fairs, student conferences, to recruit students provide information to prospective students and their parents, and promote the college.
    10. Work closely with high school guidance counselors in assigned territory in the recruitment of prospective students.
    11. Maintain an updated list of outstanding juniors and seniors and keep in contact with them. Prepare correspondence for prospective students. Responds to email and telephone inquiries.
    12. Work with Dean of Enrollment and Director of Recruitment, Communications and Data in assigned territory to plan recruiting events. Assist with planning and attend all campus recruiting events (on-and-off campus) such as Bulldog Day, In the Blue Preview, Krewe of Blue, Community Information Sessions, etc. as assigned.
    13. Attend and coordinate all on-and-off campus recruitment events (business/industry locations, community events.
    14. Assist with the Orientation program.
    15. Attend alumni meetings and assist as needed.
    16. Assist with the coordination, development, and delivery of marketing/recruitment materials and other communications and stay informed as to the content of official college publications and website.
    17. Assist with direct mail campaign for non-traditional/high school prospects and other targeted groups to optimize recruiting efforts.
    18. Coordinate the attendance/assistance of the campus Reflections Teams at all recruiting events, direct mailing efforts, etc.
    19. Assist with training the campus Reflections Teams each semester.
    20. Provide recruiting reports as requested.
    21. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Dean of Enrollment and Registrar, Director of Recruitment, Communications and Data, and the Executive Vice President of Student Services & Enrollment Management.
