Katie Weldon To Serve as Programming Director
The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is pleased to announce and welcome Katie Weldon to serve as Programming Director.
“The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce welcomes Katie to our team. She brings a level of professionalism and experience that will enhance our organization,” says CEO Adele Lyons.
Weldon joins the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber with experience as the former Housing and Conference Services Manager and Residence Life Coordinator for The University of Southern Mississippi - Gulf Coast Research Laboratory. She was responsible for managing day-to-day operations of GCRL’s short term lodging units and conference, classroom and dining facilities. As Residence Life Coordinator, she created and implemented student life development efforts, targeting guests and students while offering a diverse range of activities that are both social and educational.
Weldon graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a Masters of Higher Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs in May 2016. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a minor in Nonprofit Organizations in August 2012. During her college career, Weldon was a Joseph S. Paul Student Affairs Award recipient for her academic excellence in the Higher Education Master’s program.
Weldon currently serves as Public Relations Chair for Junior Auxiliary of Biloxi-Ocean Springs. She has also been involved in Mississippi Gulf Coast Young Professionals, Luckyday Citizenship Scholars Evaluation Committee and National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).
