Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Announces 2023 Chair, Colette Byrnes and Board of Directors

The Long Beach Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Colette Byrnes as the chair of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce for 2023.

Colette Byrnes is the Director of Event Services for The University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Park Campus. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Resort, Tourism, & Hospitality Management from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. She later obtained her master’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi. While attending Slippery Rock University, she participated in the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World, where she learned from the best in the service industry. Prior to starting with Southern Miss, she was with Starwood Hotels for over 5 years at hotels and conference centers in Pittsburgh, San Diego, and New Orleans.

In her current position, Byrnes is responsible for strategic planning, policy development, and budget management for Gulf Park Event Services. In her role, she assists both internal and external customers in reserving event spaces and classrooms at the Gulf Park Campus for events ranging from wedding receptions and social events to small conferences and University Presidential events.

Byrnes is a member of the Association of Collegiate Conference and Event Directors – International (ACCED-I) and Coast Young Professionals. She lives in Gulfport with her husband, TJ, and their four spoiled fur babies.
