Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce Pivots Amidst a Pandemic
The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce continues to pivot amidst a pandemic to serve their membership.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce is made up of over 960 members with over 50,000 employees across the Mississippi Gulf Coast and beyond. Staying true to our mission – Connect, Inform, Advocate, and Develop - the Chamber staff stays dedicated to assisting our members and the community through virtual programming.
So far this year, over 78 virtual events were held with over 50,000 viewers. Chamber programs are geared towards providing relevant content and resources throughout the pandemic on topics such as: The Cares Act, Paycheck Protection Program, Navigating Insurance Needs During Covid-19, Human Resources, How to Work from Home, a Congressional Update with Congressman Steven Palazzo, a State update with Governor Tate Reeves and many more.
In addition, over 550-member updates have been posted on social media to keep the public informed. The Chamber has provided over 200 Open for Business signs to members to place outside of their businesses. The Chamber is continuously developing ways to better serve members in the form of small business grants and scholarships. This year, the Chamber awarded $35,225 in small business grants and $21,500 in student scholarships. Overall, the Chamber is proud of all the accomplishments this year amidst a pandemic and are already looking ahead at ways to better serve membership in 2021.
