Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce's Official Stance on Equality and the State Flag
The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce took a stance against racism and strives to be a voice for respect, justice and equality for all people. Below is the recently released statement.
“On behalf of the Mississippi Gulf Coast business community, we are standing up as a voice for respect, justice and equality for all people. We join others in the stance against racism and strive to be a voice for change and unity. We also commit to listen so that our leadership is informed. In this, we are staying true to our mission: To Connect, Inform, Advocate and Develop. We are One Coast. We are stronger together.”
In addition, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, Inc.’s position on the state flag remains unchanged after it’s initial release on June 24, 2015.
“The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, Inc. supports our elected officials who are calling for a change in the state flag. We believe a change can unite the people of Mississippi and will promote a better business environment for our members. We are in agreement with Mississippi Economic Council’s position and support a different brand for Mississippi.”
