The Gulfport Arts Center (GAC) offers a large gallery of locally-produced art: paintings, pottery and other crafts, sculpture, jewelry, woodwork, and books. This gallery is staffed by our members and is open to the public for free. Most of the art is available for sale. We also offer art classes in a variety of mediums, special exhibits, and children’s art camps.
The GAC is operated by the Gulfport Galleria of Fine Art, a co-operative co-founded by Mary Anne Barkley and the late Kathy McCall immediately after Hurricane Katrina to share the work of local artists. The organization became a 501(c)3 non-profit in 2015, and by agreement with the City of Gulfport, moved into the historic Carnegie Library Building, downtown near the Post Office, and adjacent to the Mississippi Aquarium. The GGFA currently has about thirty members. Membership is open to regional artists interested in displaying their work and being involved in the operation of the Arts Center.
We’d like to thank the City of Gulfport and the Mississippi Arts Commission for their commitment, guidance, and support.Events
