Description
Alchemy of Cloth: Fantasy Ball Fashion Workshop: Create the fantasy ball outfit you've always dreamed of wearing.
Have you admired the beautiful gowns, faery fashions, and fantasy costumes at events like the Faery Court Ball, Witch's Tea, ACOTAR celebrations, renaissance festivals, and fantasy gatherings, but thought: "I wish I could make and wear something like that."
Now you can.
Alchemy of Cloth is a hands-on maker workshop where participants transform thrifted clothing, reclaimed textiles, and vintage treasures into one-of-a-kind fantasy ball attire. Whether you envision yourself as a Faery Queen, Elven Noble, Forest Witch, Dragon Rider, Pirate, Courtier, or a magical character of your own creation, you'll receive guidance and support to bring your vision to life.
No advanced sewing experience is required. This workshop is designed for beginners and experienced makers alike.
- $75 for the complete series (1 virtual session, 3 live workshops, and participation in Fashion at the Faire)
- Supplies not included. Participants will source thrifted garments, fabrics, and other materials to upcycle into their project.
What You'll Learn
- How to find and evaluate thrifted garments and textiles
- Upcycling techniques that transform existing clothing into fantasy fashion
- Basic garment alteration and embellishment methods
- Design concepts for faery, fantasy, renaissance, gothic, and cosplay-inspired attire
- Styling techniques to create a complete fantasy ball look
Perfect For
- The 7th Annual Faery Court Ball: Court of Anubis and the Undead Sept. 26 in Biloxi
- ACOTAR and fantasy book release celebrations
- Witch's Walks, Witch's Rides, and Witch's Teas
- Forest of Fae and other renaissance festivals
- Fantasy conventions and cosplay events
- Costume parties and themed galas
- Anyone who has always dreamed of creating their own magical wardrobe
Fashion at the Faire
As a bonus, your finished creation will debut in Fashion at the Faire, an interactive fashion showcase during the 3rd Annual Forest of Fae Renaissance Festival on November 14–15.
Participants receive free admission to the festival on the day they participate in the showcase.
Instead of a traditional runway, participants move throughout the festival as living fashion exhibits, interacting with guests while showcasing their designs. Festival attendees vote for their favorite looks, and prizes are awarded to the winning creations.
This is your opportunity to wear your work, inspire others, and celebrate your creativity with the community.
