• Maintenance Technician (Part Time)

    Gulfport Luxury RV Resort is seeking an experienced Part Time Maintenance Technician to maintain the physical structures and grounds of the Resort in Gulfport, Mississippi. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the daily operation and performance of the Resort with the goal of making the facility safe, secure, and attractive for guests and Resort staff. The Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Resort’s Maintenance Supervisor.
    Essential Responsibilities and Duties

    • Maintaining grounds, buildings, pool and lazy river, and general maintenance throughout the Resort.

    • Performing individual maintenance tasks

    • Assist General Manager with coordinating the work of maintenance contractors.

    • Monitoring maintenance supply inventory and requisitioning tools, equipment, and supplies.

    • Processing repair and maintenance requests by determining which tasks may be performed by maintenance staff and which must be performed by outside contractors and advise the General Manager accordingly.

    • Handle necessary repairs and maintenance.

    • Keep maintenance logs.

    • Uses equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools.

    • Resolving guest complaints regarding facility maintenance.

    • Assist with directing guests to RV sites.

    • Assisting with Resort-sponsored events including event setup, cleanup, and other support during the event.

    • Ensure bathrooms and clubhouse are always clean and presentable and common areas are free of trash and all debris.

    • Performing other related duties as assigned.

    Education/Experience

    • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

    • Knowledge of hospitality, hotel, and/or RV resort facility maintenance is preferred.

    • Excellent guest service skills.

    • Proficient in time management; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

    • Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes.

    • Ability to recognize an emergency situation and take appropriate action.

    • Able to use sound judgement, work independently, and with minimal supervision.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, with impending deadlines and/or established timeframes.

    • Performs well with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.

    Qualifications

    • Must have a valid driver’s license.

    • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently through both verbal and written venues.

    • Must have the flexibility of schedule to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

    • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

    • Must have the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

    • Ability to safely drive golf carts.

    • Knowledge of OSHA health and safety standards (preferred)

    • Ability to use a personal cell phone for Resort business.

    • Occasional local travel will be required (e.g., purchasing supplies, etc.).

    Position Type and Compensation
    The Maintenance Technician will be a part-time, non-exempt employee. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
